great product for massage sheets

I'm a massage therapist who likes to use natural oils (grapeseed and coconut oils) and have struggled with my flannel sheets smelling rancid. Using this product once a month has completely fixed the issue!

I am a massage therapist. Oil be gone has been my go to detergent.

Oil will be gone has been a great support in getting oily sheets clean in my Massage Therapy practice. I think highly of the product and have used it for years!

This actually works

I was about to throw my sheets out and tried this as a last resort. It took 2 heavy duty washes with ample product, but it changed my massage sheets from stiff and sticky to like new. It may have been cheaper to buy all new sheets when all was said and done, but if it will maintain these and future sheets it's worth every penny.

Pleasant scent

Great for massage sheets

Fantastic at stripping oil from sheets.

Ive been looking for quite some time to find something that can pull the oils from the sheets I use for massage, but have had little success until now. This powder has made such a difference even after just one or two washes, and more so if you massage it in and let them soak. I would definitely recommend this to anyone out there looking to achieve the same goal.

Fabulous

This stuff really works incredibly well I was surprised. But you have to make sure you are using the right amount of water and product for what you are washing in order for the stain to come out. You need to understand your stain and the fabric too. And never put in dyer if you feel stain is still there. First soak in solution if need to and then add. Armen Hammer laundry detergent with it and wash and it is awesome!

IT WORKS

This stuff is amazing. I am a massage therapist and I work with a lot of oil and other detergents never worked. This finally solved my problems. Highly recommended!

Amazing

I read other reviews for this and I'm so glad I did. People are totally right, it works amazingly well! I have a HE front loader machine. I used 2 scoops the first time and it worked amazingly well and got oil out of my massage sheets that I was worried may never come out. Now to maintain, I only have to use one scoop and it does great. This product is the best-kept secret - I'm so glad I found it.

Really works to remove massage oil buildup!

I am completely impressed! I have been a massage therapist for over 30 years. I use pure unscented jojoba oil that doesn't actually go rancid. HOWEVER, it is an oil and it does build up over time in massage sheets -- mine had become noticeably heavy and stiff to the touch. There was a strongly musty oil smell that got worse when a sheet sat on the shelf without being actively used and laundered for a while.I had high hopes for Oil Be Gone, because the reviews were solid. And ... it worked! I can say that in ONE laundering (used 1/4 cup in an HE washer with 4 sets of sheets, with an extra rinse), there was about a 60% reduction in the musty oily odor, and a faint fresh whiff of a more pleasant scent. The sheets were more pliable. I dried that load, and then decided to wash it again, also with an extra rinse. Even better. What I have done to systematically revitalize all of my linens is this:1. Wash 3-4 sets once in "sanitize" setting (extremely hot water, high spin) with NO extra rinse. HE washer, 1/4 cup.2. Do not dry the load, but immediately:3. Wash a 2nd time in "sanitize" setting, WITH an extra rinse. HE washer, 1/4 cup.4. Dry the load on medium heat -- "bedding" setting on our LG HE washer. For all of my active-use linens, the intense pong is GONE. These sheets are once more plain fabric, not fabric stiff with oil. This stuff is REALLY effective at removing built-up oil residue. 100% happy, thank you.* I give Oil Be Gone 5 stars for product effectiveness.* I remove ONE star for the genuinely alarming (and appreciated) caution label on the canister, and the feeling that if I breathe too much while the product's lid is open, I will chemically burn my throat. I know that it says it is biodegradable, and has a picture of a plant on the canister, and that it is friendly to the earth, and all of that, but natural things can be just as lethal as chemical things. This caution label is IMPORTANT. We do need to be careful in how we touch, use, and breathe in this product. It uses an INTENSE oil remover, and I just can't believe that it is harmlessly and instantly biodegradable right away as the water leaves the washer and goes into your septic tank or touches a little worm's body, so for marketing efforts to gloss over how strong and (in the moment) toxic this product is, with cheery chirpy words like natural and biodegradable, there is a little ding.UPDATE: this stuff is SERIOUSLY caustic. Take care that it does not touch your skin, even dry. A small amount went on my finger, which I instantly washed off for 5 mins in cool water. I had a painful raised white bump there for 2 full days (see pic). Be cautious.SUMMARY: This product is a strong combination of natural chemicals that work -- use it carefully. A hearty 4 stars.

Don’t need mch

I am a massage therapist with sheets that had gotten saturated with oils and creams. If this product didn’t work U was ready to buy new sheets again. However when I followed the directions it was way too much soap. I went from oil saturated sheets to soapy residue. Then I tried just a 1/4 of the little cup on a load of sheets and it works perfect, plus it will last much longer than the 6 cups that the container suggested!

Massage sheets resurrector!

I recently had a client where I had put a set of sheets on because I needed to do laundry, and it smelled like rancid oil, but because I was in a hurry I didn't realize how icky it smelled! Oh my gosh! I was so embarrassed . I had to change the sheets before I worked on her . I did have another set of sheets that only had an oil stain on them so I use that one. I had five sets of sheets that I had hanging out in my linen closet that I would wash every once in awhile, hoping that somehow the smell of rancid oil, would somehow disappear, but never did! I had used a product called clean sheets probably 20 years ago and had forgotten about it, so I just would buy new sheets. Well, for the cost of one set of new sheets, I bought oil be gone, and it Resurrected my sheets so that I could use them in session again. If you are in the same predicament it is totally worth buying this. I highly recommend it. Especially if you want to save money. update: I started using one scoop in every load of laundry that I have, and there is never any bad odor from workout clothes, musty towels, or gross washcloths! Love love love it. I'll be a customer for life!

Using the soak feature helps get oil out of sheets. The smell is fresh.

It is used for my massage sheets. Removing oil is a challenge. This product seems to help. They need to include more instruction for my specific purpose. Having said that, I will buy it again.

Best detergent for removing massage oil stains

This has been the best laundry detergent that I have ever used to remove massage oil stains from my patient's gowns. From what I have read thru the comments the powdered version works the best.

Works for massage sheets and towels

I retired about $300 worth of comphy sheets because I couldn’t get the oil smell out anymore and they were literally heavier embedded oil. I used them with coconut or sunflower oil for 2 years. I left them in a bag in my garage for a few weeks before I found this detergent. I washed them in extra hot with double the detergent, then regular hot with normal amount of detergent, then regular hot with my usual liquid detergent. The sheets are now back in circulation in my office.

EVEN SAVED husbands WORK shirts!!!!

This works great, I have sheets that are years old... where stains just wouldn't come out. I soaked the really bad ones in HOT water for a few hours & I could see the difference. It worked so well my husband asked me if I thought it would work forbhis "work" shirts. He works on tires....I did scrub the spot just a little, & again soaked them. IT worked!!!!! We were going to have to throw them away & buy more. HUGE SAVE!

The others are correct

I've been using the liquid for over 6 years now. And it works pretty well overall. But yes, the powder is much stronger. They also seem to recommend that you use MORE of it than with the liquid (or maybe that's just my habit). I honestly recommend using the liquid normally, and then occasionally buying a barrel of this stuff and doing a complete rejuvenation on all your towels and sheets. This stuff really works, and, if oils are the problem, you will extend the life of your textiles by YEARS.

Works very well.

Works very well. And the scent is better than other oil removing products. Just be sure to wash items within 24 hours in the hottest water setting.

Got some smell out but not all

I have spa linens that had that old oil smell. I soaked a set in this overnight. It helped but didn't get rid of it completely. Maybe I waited too late to try and salvage them.

Save your sheets!

Gets rancid oil out of sheets. Feel like the powder is more potent than the liquid. Love it.

It works great for oily sheets

It works meanwhile others didn't. (Like Charlie's soap, sorry, but it just did not work on even fresh oil stains!!!!!!. I don't understand how People got writing good reviews about it for massage sheets) I do use Charlie's for my laundry though.I also tried gall soap, goop, oxo brite, enzymes and more over the years, all with ok results. But......Now this one is the Rolls Royce of massage cleaning products. Worked on white really oily old rancid musselin cotton massage sheets, that happen to be my ALL time favorite and I have nearly 50 of them, just couldn't let them go. I soaked them for 3 days, starting with hot water, turning the machine from time to time. Then finished off with oxo brite. And rinsed a few times. Almost perfect.. I am very very happy. I don't have to go through that procedure every time obviously...Yes, it Would be nice if shipping was cheaper.

Worth the money!

I was looking for a laundry detergent that remove coconut oil residue. Oil be gone worked! It was definitely worth the money.
